I used to practice the 'green' handshake. One of the many practices ceased since learning TTATT. I know my gullible hubby, hardcore JW, does the 'green' handshake thing every time the CO shows up.
Oh, and another thing, during the assemblies at the elders' meeting there is a collection of money to cover the Society invited speaker's expenses, travel and all. Crazy!!!

COs are such a heavy burden on the congs! I mean they get all their needs/expenses covered by the cong they visit that week. Their fancy food shopping at health stores is not cheap, among many other stuff.
It would be refreshing to have them work at least a part-time gig to help with their upkeep. If this transpired, one would see quite a few quit. They enjoy a bit much their rock star status and the endless 'green' handshakes.

i did not believe i would see the demise of the wt in my lifetime, and maybe i will not, they may be able to ride out their present problems.. but how do you think this will affect the average, loyal, believing jw ?.
usually most things just wash over them, if there is a slight niggle, they use their well-worn way of explaining things to themselves as in "the end is near" or "jehovah knows best" etc etc.
but the huge sea-change in corporate policy that we see unfolding, all construction work stopped, except warwick and maybe their biggest project, chelmsford u.k. huge bethel layoffs, and the lifestyle of the remaining staff reduced to virtual slavery, more bethel closures, spiritual food reduced for the public as well as the r&f, and all of this being the opposite of what they have claimed was evidence of jehovah's blessing ???.
In the Spanish cong I attend whatever change will be received as all others have: Joyfully; then we will go to some party, beach or gathering at someone's house over the weekend where there will be rich food, drinks, games and dancing.

yesterday i was with a group of brothers that wanted my advice on re-roofing a home.
three of them were ministerial servants.
all of them are from the spanish congregation.
The change will be viewed as a provision from Jehovah and will be received happily.
I will not make a hit of difference to me as the damn meeting is still almost 2 hours long. It would make me happy if it was reduced to 1 hour, and the Sunday meeting too, and the big assembly 2 days, 10 am to 3 pm. Enough!
I will keep my dream alive.

1. what actual worship did you do at the meetings or gatherings?.

heard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.
